LGBTIQA+ Older Adult Mental Health Statewide Consultation

Published on 16 Jan 2025

The WA Country Health Service is leading the development of the state's first Older Adult Mental Health Model of Service, outlining how care is delivered to older adults with mental health issues in Western Australia.

Recognising the rich diversity of people living in WA, it’s important to identify key issues and priorities of LGBTIQA+ people with mental health concerns, to ensure access to appropriate, safe, respectful and inclusive care and services.

The Older Adult Mental Health Project Working Group would like to hear from:

  • LGBTIQA+ people who have experienced mental health issues, 65 years and over (55 years and over for Aboriginal people).
  • LGBTIQA+ communities and organisations supporting LGBTIQA+ older adults with mental health issues.
  • Families and carers supporting older LGBTIQA+ adults with mental health issues.
  • Health professionals, aged care and community service organisations providing care to LGBTIQA+ older adults with mental health issues.

The online consultation is open until 30 January 2025. To provide your input, please click on this link: LGBTIQA+ Consultation Invitation Link.
