New national mental health bodies co-design opportunity
The Commonwealth Government is creating peak bodies to support people with a lived or living experience of mental health issues to shape the policies and programs that affect them. This includes consumers, families, carers and kin.
The project is currently looking to engage nationally with stakeholders, particularly those people with lived experience of mental health issues, to collaborate and help shape the peak bodies’ roles, principles, and structures.
Two independent national mental health lived experience peak bodies will be set up:
- one representing consumers, and
- one representing families, carers, and kin.
They will work to help ensure people with lived and living experience of mental ill-health can help shape the policies and programs impacting them.
Ways to get involved is available on the National Peaks Project Hub.
