Older Adult Mental Health Model of Service: Consultation opportunity

Published on 18 Oct 2024

The WA Country Health Service is leading the development of the state's first Older Adult Mental Health Model of Service, outlining how care is delivered to older adults with a mental illness in Western Australia.

Recognising the rich diversity of people residing in WA, it’s important people with multicultural or cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds can access appropriate care.

The Older Adult Mental Health Project Working Group would like to hear from:

  • People from a multicultural background, with a lived or living experience of mental illness aged 65 years and over;
  • Multicultural groups, communities and organisations (on behalf of community members who are 65 years and over with a mental illness);
  • Carer, families or the significant other of a person aged 65 years or older with mental illness, from a multicultural background;
  • Health professionals, aged care and community service organisations providing care to older adults with a mental illness, from multicultural backgrounds.
