Upgrades to My Services make it easier to find help near you
The Mental Health Commission has rolled out a series of upgrades to its My Services directory to make it easier for consumers, carers, and families to find mental health, alcohol and drug supports close to home.
My Services is a web-based directory of social, health and community services where it is free to list and free to search. It provides consumers of mental health services, their carers and families with an up-to-date list of treatment, support and advocacy services in Western Australia (WA) that can be searched by age, issue of concern, type or name of service, organisation and geographic location.
In just a few clicks users can access more than 2,500 service listings across the State, with WA Government funded services highlighted with a ‘Mental Health Commission funded’ tag.
Upgrades to the directory to improve user experience include:
- easy to use menus
- improved mapping of services
- refined search functionality
- addition of telephone support and online chat listings
- better navigation around the site.
Acting Mental Health Commissioner Lindsay Hale said improvements to the branding, search functionality, search results and mapping have made My Services even easier for consumers, carers, family members and sector workers to find mental health, alcohol and other drug support services in their local area.
“Feedback from people with lived experience of mental health, alcohol and other drug issues helped to shape the enhancements which have improved navigation of the system,” Mr Hale said.
“I encourage services and support groups not already registered for My Services to add their contact details so more community members can access their help at the click of a button.”
The Mental Health Commission launched the My Services online directory in 2019 to help consumers, carers and families navigate the mental health system and find a range of supports close to people’s homes.
In 2021-22 there were 512,856 site searches and 188,024 click throughs to individual listings.
