Training
Strong Spirit Strong Mind Aboriginal Programs is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 50293) who provides culturally secure training programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the drug and alcohol, mental health and human services sectors. This includes a nationally recognised Certificate III in Community Services (CHC32015) and Certificate IV Alcohol and Other Drugs (CHC43215).
Certificate III in Community Services (CHC32015)
The program is unique and distinct from other training programs and is targeted to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Alcohol and Other Drug Workers. The content is culturally secure and based on evidence-based practice for alcohol and other drugs, particularly as it relates to working with Aboriginal people and communities. The learning materials and methods have been developed by Aboriginal professionals and relate to an Aboriginal worldview through the introduction of cultural models of practice and ways of working.

Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (CHC43215)
Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs is a culturally secure training program and is designed for Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drug Workers. It will build on knowledge and skills in responding to drug and alcohol issues and related harms in Aboriginal communities. In addition the training will provide further knowledge and skills responding to mental health and co-occurring issues.

Way of Working with Aboriginal People
This two part whole day program focuses on introducing participants to working with Aboriginal people. Anyone within the AOD and MH sectors working with Aboriginal people is encouraged to attend.
