Expression of Interest for membership on the Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board
The Mental Health Commission is seeking Expressions of Interest for an additional five members to join the Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board (AODAB).
The AODAB is a State Government Board established to provide advice to the Mental Health Commissioner about matters relevant to the performance of the Commissioner's functions.
Expertise in the following areas are currently being sought:
- Aboriginal sector (two members)
- Regional services (one member)
- Lived and Living Experience – Consumer or significant other (one member)
- Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine specialist (one member)
AODAB members’ expertise will contribute to ensuring decision-making at the highest level is informed by contemporary and expert advice, including decision making in relation to strategy and policy development, and systems and services planning.
The AODAB currently comprises six members with diverse perspectives that cover areas of expertise in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) field including prevention, community services, research, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and lived experience.
